LOKO was founded on 6 November 1986 by the Fusion of the «ASR – Algemene Studentenraad» and «KrUL – Kring Unie Leuven».
They are the overseeing organization of students in Leuven. They represent students, organize events and support associations. They support 36 faculty circles and more than 60 free associations.
On 29 March 2017, LOKO organized the 7th edition of the «Beiaardcantus», a singalong where students sing traditional and cultural songs, accompanied by the carillon of the university library. On this edition they broke the world record for biggest cantus, with 4.000 participants.

LOKO a été fondé le 6 novembre 1986 par la fusion de l’ «ASR – Algemene Studentenraad» et de la «KrUL – Kring Unie Leuven».
Il s’agit de l’organisation des étudiants de Louvain. Elle représente les étudiants, organise des événements et soutiennent les associations. Elle soutient 36 cercles facultaires et plus de 60 associations libres.
Le 29 mars 2017, LOKO a organisé la 7e édition du «Beiaardcantus», un cantus où les étudiants chantent des chansons traditionnelles et culturelles, accompagnés par le carillon de la bibliothèque universitaire. Lors de cette édition, ils ont battu le record mondial du plus grand cantus, avec 4.000 participants.

LOKO werd opgericht op 6 november 1986 door de Fusie van de «ASR – Algemene Studentenraad» en de «KrUL – Kring Unie Leuven».
Zij zijn de overkoepelende organisatie van de Leuvense studenten. Ze vertegenwoordigen studenten, organiseren evenementen en ondersteunen verenigingen. Ze ondersteunen 36 faculteitskringen en meer dan 60 vrije verenigingen.
Op 29 maart 2017 organiseerde LOKO de 7de editie van de «Beiaardcantus», een zangfestijn waarbij studenten traditionele en culturele liederen zingen, begeleid door de beiaard van de universiteitsbibliotheek. Op deze editie braken ze het wereldrecord voor de grootste cantus, met 4.000 deelnemers.
