Board sash

A Board sash, also called Praesidium sash, is a wide sash worn by members of the board or praesidium within certain student associations.

A board sash by default is 2.10m long and 12cm wide. In reality, however, it can be adjusted to suit the wearer. It is held together at the bottom with a gold or silver cord and is finished at the ends with gold or silver fringes. The coat of arms is placed at +/- 23cm from the shoulder seam, in the direction of the stripes.

Each association applies its own rules, but in general the decorations are applied as follows:

• Name
• Shield
• Function
• Year

The functions performed by a person throughout his or her studentical career are added on the same band, so that one can read a kind of studentical curriculum on it.
