Geelse Club
The Geelse Club was a regional student club for male students from Geel who studied in Leuven.

History
Traditionally the foundation of the Geelse Club was situated in 1898. Historical research, however, suggests that it was not until 1900 that Karel Luyten founded a club for the students of Geel and the surrounding region. Like all clubs in Leuven, the Geelse Club was forced to suspend its activities during the First World War.
With the reopening of the university in 1919, the Geelse, together with all the other Antwerp clubs, also resurrected. During the 1920s it rather united the students from Mol and Meerhout and was very politically engaged. Its members often stood on the barricades.
In 1932 the Geelse club chose its colours under the impulse of the Seniorenkonvent: Red-Double Yellow-Red. Throughout the 1930s, the club was not in good health and, according to oral tradition, survived the Second World War in Café Juliette in the Parijsstraat in Leuven.
During the 1950s, the Geelse Club organised two types of activities: either recreational or political. In this period they got along especially well with Mastentop and the toughest guys from both clubs united in the Bande Anversoise. Despite the changes in mentality at Leuven in the following years, the Geelse mentality remained indestructible.
At the beginning of the 1980s, the Geelse was one of the smallest clubs in Leuven, with barely a dozen members, and in 1987 their number had even been reduced to 2. Because of the many moves and the general downfall of student life, the Geelse had to cease its activities in 1995.
However, on 12 December 1998, thanks to the efforts of Tom Valckx and Dr Hans Verbovenenkele, and some former members, she resurfaced to celebrate her centenary with due splendour.
In September 2010, the Senior was deposed and the club was largely inactive until February 2012 when it was revived.
In 2013, the Geelse was suspended as a member of the Seniorenkonvent and in 2016 she disappeared for good.
Colours
In 1932, under the impetus of the Seniorenkonvent, the Geelse Club chose its colours: Red-Double Yellow-Red.
The left half of the shield shows the coat of arms of the city of Geel and the right half the club colours with the Zirkel on it.
