History
The Goedeleconvent is one of the conventions of the KSC Brussel. It was founded on Saturday 12 April 1941 by Olga Paternoster under the watchful eye of Piet Van Nieuwenhuysen v/o Chilperik, the Praeses of the KSC.
The Goedeleconvent began as a tentative entry of female students into club life but over the years it would grow into the female equivalent of Bezem Brussel. Despite the sometimes fierce activity of anti-feminists, the female presence in club life became a trend that could no longer be reversed. The result, however, can be considered favourable.
In the first decades, the "Goedelkes" were responsible for the Saint Nicholas and Christmas parties, they organised recitals and mainly participated in folk dancing and singing afternoons.
In the 1950s and 1960s, the Goedeleconvent was not as active every year, and sometimes several convent leaders were collectively assigned to share the work. On Thursday 3 November 1966, the "Goedelkes" were invited for the first time to a porrencantus together with Bezem Brussel. Step by step, integration continued and from December 1971 the Goedeleconvent was led by a presida and they were also allowed to attend cantuses. Only the baptismal club and the hazing club remained strictly male affairs at that time. This meant they enjoyed special treatment within the KSC since they were neither baptised nor hazed nor sang a swan song. So they were never novices and therefore had to content themselves with thin bands.
In 1986, the "Goedelkes" went on their first unaccompanied rolling trip and something like a hazing was also organised. Since then, all "Goedelkes" have also been given a club name.
In 1995, the Goedeleconvent co-founded the Meisjesseniorenkonvent Leuven (MSK-Leuven). From then on, its members were also baptised.
In 1998, the Goedeleconvent already stepped out of the MSK, but under the impetus of Els Goubert, that soon changed again. From 2002, in preparation for this re-entry, the narrow bands were replaced by regular club bands. In 2004, the Goedeleconvent was again accepted by the MSK and in 2006 they created their own shield.
Colours
Its colours are Green-Red-Green with Red as the main colour.
The left half of the shield shows a witch on a broom while the right half is filled in by the club colours and the Zirkel.
